LAC DE KOURNAS :A une trentaine de kms de Bollana, prendre la grand route vers Chania et suivre les indications Kournas à hauteur de Georgioupolis. Un lac d’eau douce bordé de tavernes, entouré de montagnes . Une baignade agréable En allant à Kournas, une petite halte à Georgioupolis : une station balnéaire de taille moyenne, Georgioupolis était au départ un petit port de pêche qui n’a rien perdu de son charme malgré une fréquentation touristique assez importante… Georgioupolis se situe à 5 kms de Vamos et à 20 kms à l’ouest Rethymnon sur la route qui relie Chania à Rethymnon…

Beautiful lake surrounded by mountains on the way to Rethymnon, 40 minutes by car. You are able to swim, ride a seabike, and eat in one of the wlocal restaurands "paidakia" or "antikristo" two ways to enjoy local lamp.

Lake Kournas is a lake on the island of Crete, Greece, near the village of Kournas. It is in the Apokoronas municipality of Chania regional unit close to the border with Rethymno regional unit, 47 km from the town of Chania. Kournas is a fairly large village perched on a hill overlooking the lake. Crete's only freshwater lake, Lake Kournas, is relatively large, with a perimeter of 3.5 km. There is a nature preserve on the Southwest side of the lake. There is a rustic road from the North of the lake to the Hills on the West of the lake. The lake used to be called Koresia after ancient Korion, a city thought to be in the area with a temple to Athena. Tavernas and pedalo rental shops line part of the shore.
