The Pass is one of my favourite Byron beaches. Great for families.

“This beach is probably the most picturesque that Byron Bay has to offer. Its sheltered corners and aqua waters make it a sight to behold. You can access the beach by car or on foot via the Cape Byron walking trail. Be warned, it can get busy so we try and get there early to secure a good parking spot! ”

“Tallow beach is located approximately 3km from Byron’s town centre in the Arakwal National Park. It is a beautiful sandy beach with opportunities for whale watching, bird watching, beach fishing, sunbaking and swimming. The beach is unpatrolled and can have strong rips so recommended for experienced surfers only.”

Restaurant
“Harvest is always on everyone's list of places to visit when they come to the Northern Rivers. Harvest is a restaurant, deli and bakery all set next to each other, in the historic village of Newrybar. The food in all three settings is unmissable and whether you head over for a low-key coffee and a croissant or sit down for a special meal, you will leave with a happy stomach and a happy heart. Bookings are essential for the restaurant as it books up in advance. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is availalble. If you are heading for a coffee, make sure to visit the communal gardens at the back of the bakery :)”

Café
“Cape Byron lighthouse is an iconic building that stands at the headland and can be seen for miles around. The best way to see the lighthouse is to access it via the Cape Byron walking track which will take you around the coast via The Pass and Wategoes, with a final ascent to the lighthouse. The walk takes about 45 minutes one way and there are a few steps to get there but the views are out of this world. Once at the top, you can spot dolphins, turtles and whales (in season from May - Oct). Take some money with you as the cafe at the top must have some of the best views in the area! You can also drive and park at the top of the lighthouse. You will have to pay for parking.”

“This place is an absolute jewel. Located in the quiet hamlet of Federal, Doma cafe is popular with day-trippers heading from or to Minyon Falls. Their japanese food is out of this world and there is often live music in the garden. ”
