Great walk to the wetlands of the Solway Firth, unique historic castle and cafe (seasonal opening).

The only triangular castle in the land. You have a walk around this ruin and it is next door to the wetland and wildlife trust.

A bit further afield, but this castle is amazing and every child's dream of what a castle should be with it's wide moat, twin-towered gatehouse and lofty battlements, Caerlaverock is the epitome of the medieval stronghold.
