This 4-acre woodland garden originated from worked out gravel pits in the 1950’s, offering interest all year round, but particularly in Spring and Autumn. There is a large nursery that offers for sale a wide selectin of home-grown trees, shrubs, conifers, perennials, hedging plants, fruit trees and bushes. There is a tearoom offering home-made cakes, afternoon tea (pre-booking required) and light lunches using locally sourced produce wherever possible. The Woodland Walks in the 4-acre site provide a living catalogue for Macpennys nursery, so even if you don’t actually want to buy plants it’s really worth a visit just to see our beautiful Woodland Walk and Gardens which are part of the National Gardens Scheme. Come and spend a delightful hour or so meandering through the area and see for yourself how the plants of your choice will look once they have been established.
