Perched atop the famed Tower of the Americas in HemisFair Park is a bar that, were it not for the view, would probably be empty every night due to slow service and rather pricey drink and appetizer prices that conspire to give the joint lousy Yelp ratings. But, it's amazing what a 70-story view of the Alamo and the Texas lowlands and Hill Country will do to ya, so 601 still manages to pack 'em in. One drink won't hurt, right?

Perched atop the famed Tower of the Americas in HemisFair Park is a bar that, were it not for the view, would probably be empty every night due to slow service and rather pricey drink and appetizer prices that conspire to give the joint lousy Yelp ratings. 6 minute drive. Great date night or special occasion. Sits atop 750 foot tall Tower of the Americas. Amazing 360 views of San Antonio.

Tower of the Americas Bar. Go for Happy Hour and let them know your going to the Bar for Happy Hour and you get to go up for free.

We love to take the 600 foot elevator all the way to the top of the Tower of the Americas and drink craft cocktails (fancy!) while enjoying STUNNING views of downtown San Antonio and beyond. The fountains at the base of the tower are gorgeous too and a great place for a photo. It can be pricey but they have GREAT happy hour specials (4-7 I believe) including gourmet appetizers.
