Church located to the northwest of the old part of the village of Taradell, has been documented since the year 950 but it was replaced by the Romanesque church in 1076, from which, the magnificent bell tower of ' Romanesque Lombard style still remains. Between 1949-1950 the upper floors were reconstructed and in 1929 it was rebuilt at the Poble Espanyol in Barcelona. The current temple, dedicated to Sant Genís, is a large neoclassical baroque building built between 1755 and 1765, the work of the vigilant brothers Josep and Antoni Moretó and Sellés, architect and builder respectively. Inside there are no longer any of the old altarpieces and walls due to a casual fire in 1904.
