The RSPB Weymouth Wetlands nature reserves are hidden gems in the heart of Weymouth. Comprises of 2 reserves (RSPB Radipole Lake and RSPB Lodmoor) and a Discovery Centre. Nestled in the centre of Weymouth is Radipole Lake. The reedbeds of Radipole Lake are an unlikely urban home to some stunning wildlife, including fabulous birds like bearded reedling, Cettis warbler, kingfishers, and elusive creatures such as otters and water voles. Lodmoor is a quiet haven for wildlife. The combination of a large reedbed, open water, saltmarsh, wet grassland and bushes attract a variety of different birds, including Marsh Harrier, bearded reedling, Snipe, Water rail, Terns attracted by the nesting island, ducks, kingfishers and winter waders.
