Espaço cultural com exposições fotográficas e uma arquitetura interessante. Imperdível! Cultural space with photographic exhibitions and interesting architecture. Unmissable! Espace culturel avec des expositions de photographies et une architecture intéressante. A voir absolument!
A must go for photography lovers. There's a great typical Brazilian restaurant inside called Balaio, definitely worth a visit if you can get a seat.
The Instituto Moreira Salles, also known as the IMS, is a non-profit organization founded by Walter Moreira Salles (1912–2001) in 1990 and managed by the Moreira Salles family. Its goal is to promote the development of cultural projects mainly in five areas: photography, literature, libraries, visual arts and Brazilian music.
An impressive photography collection from the enormous Marcel Gautherot, who documented the construction of Brasilia, the modernist city and capital of Brazil and the Amazon. The collection also holds works from other iconic Brazilian and foreign photographers. Not to miss - this is the São Paulo of the insiders!
