Take a float down the Chena River on an old time paddle boat. This is one of my favorite "tourist" activities in Fairbanks.

3 hour cruise up the Chena River. Fun and interesting! You will LOVE the free salmon dip.

Although it's a bit 'touristy', it's a learning experience, as the Binkley family does a great job sharing Alaskan history and culture with their guests.

If you want to see a little bit of everything Alaska all at once, take a trip on the Riverboat Discovery! You get to see sled dog kennels, demonstrations on traditional clothing and food preservation from local Alaskan natives, float planes, all wrapped up in a beautiful float down the river.
