Flagstaff is a dark sky city meaning you can enjoy the stars from everywhere, but, if you love astronomy and science we have one of the first observatories in the United States, now considered a National Landmark as well. They provide great educational tours but, you do need to watch the weather. Cloudy skies do not make for great star gazing. You can also check out their event calendar and see if something unique is happening!

Head to Lowell at night for an INCREDIBLE view of the night sky and stars! Flagstaff is the world's first Dark Sky City, which means you get some of the best views of stars in the entire country.

Founded in 1894, this hilltop center with giant telescopes offers tours, solar viewing & stargazing. Thorpe park is at the bottom of the hill, huge playground and sports fields, dog park, lots of activities.
