The reserve is rich in bio-diversity, especially birds with over 150 bird species recorded annually.

Beginning November 3, 2018, the Għadira Nature Reserve opens every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00 and at the moment (October 15) there are flamingos there! s about a 15 minute walk along the seaside from here and admission is free.
