Pensez à réserver à l'avance votre demi journée de découverte des éléphants. Dans un cadre adapté, les éléphants sont à la "retraite" et retrouve un semblant de vie normale, loin de la maltraitance dont ils ont souvent été victimes.

ELEPHANT SANCTUARY It is again under the impulse of the Save Elephant Foundation (the foundation of Lek Chailert, creator of the Elephant Nature Park of Chiang Mai) that this project was born. More than a year ago, they invited an owner of a Koh Samui elephant camp to discover Elephant Nature Park and its way of working. Determined to change his practices, he has returned several times to his entire family and after a year of preparation and work in collaboration with the foundation, the first elephant sanctuary in Koh Samui called Samui Elephant Sanctuary (SES) was able to open its doors this week. The Samui Elephant Sanctuary is owned by Wittaya Salangam and her family, who for decades used her elephants for trekking on Koh Samui. They had the merit and courage to radically change their way of doing things and finally give their elephants a life without work. The sanctuary today has 3 elephants: Kham San, Sri Nin, and Cartoon.
