No trip to Mendocino is complete with it a trip to the Redwoods. Less populated than other redwood parks in Northern CA, here you will be able to appreciate their majestic presence.

If you can, plan your drive along HWY 128 during the daylight hours so you can see the redwood canopy through the park. There are a couple of popular swimming holes along the river during the summer, around the 6 mile marker (heading east). The beach at the mouth of the river is our nearest beach and is wild and beautiful, particularly during the off season. It's closed to camping in the winter, but it's fine to park and take a walk along the shore.
