Château comencer mais jamais fini ! but d'excursion incontournable

Même non expert des randonnées, à faire à son rythme. Mieux vaut partir tôt le matin à la fraîche ! Une vue exceptionnelle d'Estartit et ses alentours depuis le château !!

A climb to this castle on top of a mountain with stunning views. Not easy, 1 H climbing up, 1,5 H going down. Good shoes required.

Montgrí Castle is a military fortification declared a cultural asset of national interest. It was built between 1294 and 1301 by King Jaume II, at the top of the Montgrí massif. The climb is a walk of (about) an hour and a half. From the castle there are the best views of the whole Empordà and the Costa Brava.

The climb up to this old castle is worth it for the view and to see a traditional castle.
