Giant City State Park is only 11 miles away, and has picturesque hiking trails, rock climbing, picnic areas with shelters, horseback riding, etc. "An outdoor lover's paradise."

Beautiful trails for hiking and walking. Family style all-you-can-eat chicken dinner with all the fixings. Water Tower has great views of the Shawnee National Forest. Worth the short drive.

Great park with everything from hiking, fishing, camping, or just a nice picnic in one of the many pavilions. The hiking trails are easy to moderate and relatively short, most being under 1 mile. Except Red Cedar Trail at 12 miles for those more serious hikers. After a day of outdoor fun stop into the Giant City Lodge for dinner. If you like catfish then you surely won't be disappointed here.
