Easy bike ride from town, good amount of parking, or take the WAVE shuttle bus in season; bus stops right at the beach. Great beach for families with young kids. Lifeguards, changing rooms, playground, restrooms, showers, restaurant and take-out food service (in season). Concession and restrooms handicap accessible; plastic mat running down center of the beach makes it easier to walk down the sand. The water is calm and warm, perfect for swimming. Good for finding shells and sea glass.

Probably the best north shore beach on the island. It's vast and lovely, on the edge of the harbor. Watch the boats coming and going, swim with a lifeguard, explore the shores... There are fresh water showers, and a perfect restaurant as well, allowing you to make a full day at the beach. Bike, shuttle or drive (plenty of free parking). It's a four mile bike ride from our cottage, taking the Cliff Road bike path.
