Lake Lure is the filming location for the 80s classic Dirty Dancing. Every summer, Lake Lure hosts the annual Dirty Dancing Festival to commemorate the occasion. The festival features a showing of the movie, a watermelon carrying contest, and iconic lake lift contest. Live music, food vendors, and family friendly activities available.
