Aydon Castle, an English Heritage property, is open April to October. There’s a walled orchard where you sit and enjoy the sunshine (and an ice cream from the gift shop) or enjoy a freshly picked apple in the autumn. Lots of lovely walks from the castle too.

English Heritage 13th Century Fortified Manor House in lovely woodlands close to Corbridge.

An English Heritage Medieval fortified Manor House near Corbridge. Well worth a visit and picnic in the summer. Can be reached by foot from Corbridge - probably a good 40 minute walk.
