The Archaeological Museum of Heraklion is the museum in which the Minoan culture is presented almost in its entirety. It is one of the largest and most remarkable museums in Greece and one of the most important in Europe [1]. His exhibits include representative specimens from all periods of Cretan prehistory and history, covering about 5,500 years, from the Neolithic era to Roman times. Dominant in his collections are the unique masterpieces of Minoan art. The collection of Minoan antiquities is the most important in the world and the museum is considered the pre-eminent museum of Minoan civilization. Le musée archéologique d'Héraklion est le musée dans lequel la culture minoenne est présentée presque dans son intégralité. C'est l'un des musées les plus grands et les plus remarquables de Grèce et l'un des plus importants d'Europe [1]. Ses expositions comprennent des spécimens représentatifs de toutes les périodes de la préhistoire et de l'histoire crétoises, couvrant environ 5500 ans, de l'ère néolithique à l'époque romaine. Les chefs-d'œuvre uniques de l'art minoen dominent dans ses collections. Un émerveillement salle après salle ! S'il n'y avait qu'une seule visite "culturelle" à faire en Crète, ce serait celle là sans hésiter.

The Heraklion Archaeological Museum is in the center of Heraklion city 4km from Knossos palace. Lots of exhibits that were found in Knossos are displayed in the musuem. It houses representative artefacts from all periods of Cretan prehistory and history, covering a c hronological span of over 5,500 years from the Neolithic period to Roman times. The Heraklion Archaeological Museum prides itself for its unique Minoan collection, which includes the masterpieces of Minoan art. It is rightly considered as the Museum of Minoan Culture par excellence. Located in the town center, it was designed by the architect Patroklos Karantinos and was built between 1935 and 1958 on a site previously occupied by the Venetian monastery of Saint-Francis which was destroyed by earthquake in 1856. The ruins of the monastery are visible in the museum’s garden.

its nice to go and visit our museum of my city with all the treasures of Knossos Palace and many ancients cities of my island. its also has a beautiful garden you can enjoy you cofffe. It is a the Liberty Square at the center o Iraklio.
