Gui-gui can really be called a secret beach. It is very beautiful, absolutely virgin and not spoiled by tourists. The beach is located in the southwest of the Gran-Canaria island between two mountains. It is so untouched by civilization that there is not only no infrastructure (only a hose with drinking water), but there is no even a telephone connection. To get there, you need to overcome a mountain pass. Round trip hiking in total is 15 km. 2 hours one-way. An hour uphill and an hour downhill.

Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Teide volcano on the horizon from the remote Güigüí Beach. Located in the western part of the island, the beach is accessible via a trekking path.

A Nature Hikers Must and Stargazers too. A must do trek on any ones list. Expect a full day round trip. Must MUST MUST take tour or car packages if you need see in 24hours as bus travel to area very limited. Be careful on boat tours to the beach area as they have been known to abandon guests who can swim return to the boat and as well boat tours that just do not depart harbour. MUST bring water minimum 2 Liters and full hiking gear and clothes, lamps, small survival items. Weather can shift dramatically throughout the trail. Cell coverage can be limited to non-existent as can seeing other people. It is an amazing remoteness on a small island. if you bring spare change you may catch some of the locals who sell items from their illegal cabins. Do not count on finding food or water or shelter from the elements including the sun. Bug spray and map as well.

It is located in the west of Gran Canaria. It has a difficult access since it cannot be reached by car, and the closest town to it is the small village of Tasartico. it becomes a full-day excursion that requires some effort. First you have to drive to the small village of Tasartico. A remote little town located an hour and a half drive from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria or an hour from Maspalomas. You can find a small parking lot at the beginning of the path. A well-marked hiking trail of just 5 kilometers (one way). They are 5 kilometers of constant ascents and descents and a strong unevenness between volcanic, arid landscapes and lacking shade where to shelter. Approximately 2 and a half hours of walking to get there, and as many to return.
